Downtown traffic stop leads to drug charge

A local man was issued a drug-related charge following a traffic stop in the city Saturday morning around 3:10.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol stopped Ronald Branham, 50, of 508 West Columbus Avenue, Bellefontaine, at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Detroit Street for a headlight being out.

While approaching the vehicle, authorities smelled marijuana.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found a pipe used for smoking marijuana.

Branham was issued a summons for possession of drug abuse instruments.
