Two city residents were charged following a traffic stop in Bellefontaine Saturday morning around 12:40.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Daniel Easton, 35, of 512 North Detroit Street, was stopped in the 1100 block of South Main Street for operating a vehicle without tail lights.
After smelling alcohol, the trooper conducted a series of sobriety tests.
Easton was not impaired, but he was cited for open container.
His passenger, Erica Bright, 32, of 1146 South Main Street, went inside her house.
Moments later, she returned and questioned the trooper.
Authorities told Bright to go back inside so they could complete their investigation.
Bright failed to comply. She was handcuffed and placed in the cruiser for a short time.
She was then released and issued a summons for obstructing official business.
