Local driver crashes into utility pole

An area driver was cited after he struck a utility pole in East Liberty Sunday morning around one o'clock.

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that James Boyles, 25, of 318 1/2 East Columbus Street, Kenton, was driving a 2001 Hyundai Accent northbound on State Route 292 when he failed to negotiate a curve, then went off the left side of the road and struck a pole near College Street.

Boyles, who suffered possible injuries, was not transported.

He was cited for failure to control.

DP&L crews installed a new pole.

Perry Township EMS assisted at the scene.

Boyles' vehicle suffered heavy damage.
