Local man caught stealing at Lakeview Hardware

An Indian Lake man was arrested after he attempted to steal a push mower from Lakeview Hardware, 8795 Township Road 239, Wednesday afternoon around 3:30.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Frank Wallace, 57, of 11146 Shawnee Path, Lakeview, was trying to load the mower into his Geo Tracker when employees confronted him.

Wallace then drove away.

Moments later, deputies saw the suspect vehicle on State Route 235 south of State Route 366.

Authorities then conducted a traffic stop and returned Wallace to the hardware.

After employees identified Wallace as the suspect, he was charged with theft and lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Wallace said he took the mower because he thought it was scrap.
