One defendant was sentenced and seven pleaded guilty before Logan County Common Pleas Court Judge Mark O’Connor recently.
Anthony Garman, 22, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to 30 days in the Logan County Jail, five years community control, and ordered to pay a $250 fine, court costs, and attorney fees for escape.
In May, Garman was indicted for escape (F5) and resisting arrest (M1).
On February 27th, Garman was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop in Bellefontaine around 11:30 p.m.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Garman was driving a '91 Toyota Corolla. He was weaving near the intersection of South Main Street and Water Avenue.
Initially, Garman was charged with OVI. His blood alcohol level was .125.
Moments after the arrest, he slipped out of the handcuffs and fled northbound on foot.
About an hour later, Garman was captured in a driveway in the 100 block of West Auburn Avenue and charged with a felony count of escape.
He was also cited for failure to drive in marked lanes and improper turn.
The Bellefontaine Police Department and Logan County Sheriff's Office assisted troopers during the foot pursuit.
Keenan Davidson, 18, of DeGraff, pleaded guilty to two counts of complicity to grand theft of a motor vehicle and one count of complicity to grand theft.
In July, Davidson was indicted on a single count of complicity to grand theft of a firearm (F3), two counts of complicity to grand theft of a motor vehicle (F4), single counts of complicity to theft of a credit card (F5) and complicity to criminal damaging (M2), and 12 counts of complicity to theft (M1).
The charges stem from a rash of vehicle break-ins across DeGraff in June.
Deputies report that two cars in DeGraff were stolen and fourteen other vehicles were broken into and a variety of items were stolen.
Daniel Melson, 38, of Russells Point, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs.
Miguel Medina, 32, of Bellefontaine, pleaded guilty to non-support of dependents.
Nicole West, 25, of Mechanicsburg, pleaded guilty to theft.
Joshua Snyder, 27, of Bellefontaine, pleaded guilty to misuse of a credit card.
Presentence investigations were ordered and sentencings are scheduled for November 12th.
DeWayne Brown, 29, of Bellefontaine, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs.
A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing is scheduled for November 18th.
Karen Pounds, 64, of Bellefontaine, pleaded guilty to theft and was placed on the prosecutor’s pretrial diversion program.
