The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident, which happened around 3:15.
A 45-year-old Alger man was driving a Ford pickup and trailer southbound on 68 just south of Township Road 30 when he went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.
The collision snapped the pole and brought down power lines.
The driver then overcorrected and skidded around across the road. The pickup and trailer came to rest facing northbound.
The pickup suffered damage from the jackknifed trailer. The truck's left rear tire blew out.
The driver was not injured.
Traffic was detoured for about two hours because of the downed power lines.
Some nearby residents lost power.
DP&L responded to install a new pole.
The West Liberty Fire Department and Macochee Joint Ambulance District assisted at the scene.
Charges are pending.
