The President of the National Rifle Association made a couple of stops in Logan County this week.
Newly-elected NRA President Jim Porter (pictured) spoke to a crowd of 150 Monday evening during a Logan County Republican Party Century Club private event at Briarwood Sporting Club near Bellefontaine.
Porter, whose father was also NRA President from 1959 to 1961, briefed the crowd on the Second Amendment and the NRA's history. He said statistics prove more restrictive gun laws do not prevent tragedies like Sandy Hook Elementary. "We've been having this same conversation for years with the media making us out as sometimes less than human."
Porter also stressed the need to elect more pro-gun legislators in 2014 to protect Second Amendment rights.
Mr. Porter toured AcuSport Tuesday morning with CEO Bill Fraim.
Listen to Porter talk about the organization, goals during his term, and the importance to protect the Second Amendment.
