An alley vacation hearing was conducted before the Bellefontaine City Council meeting Tuesday.
The north-south running alley in the vicinity of Euclid Avenue and Florence Street is not an improved alley meaning that it is not paved. Also no city utilities are located in the alley. All the contiguous property owners have approved the vacation. Once the city vacates the property it will become part of the land owners' property.
Council conducted the first reading on an ordinance that would vacate the alley during the meeting.
Law Director Howard Traul explains the vacation.
Council adopted an ordinance on its third reading that allows the state to conduct a bridge work project within the city during 2016.
Councilman Jerry Pitzer expressed his thanks to Officer Randy Knox for 24 years of service with the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Paul Benedetti reported that ISS America has received a job creation tax credit from JobsOhio.
Patrick Wolfe was also present to speak with council about stray cats and the diseases that cats can carry.
Bellefontaine City Council will meet again on July 9th at 7:30 pm.
