Two local residents were arrested following a brief investigation of thefts in Russells Point Sunday.
Aushele Sarver (pictured left), 19, of 13938 Blue Jacket Path, Lakeview, was charged with theft and conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.
Chanc Carter (pictured right), 24, of 725 North Detroit Street, Bellefontaine, was lodged on felony charges of receiving stolen property.
On Sunday morning, officers began to receive complaints of theft from vehicles on Holly Lane.
Various items were taken from three or four vehicles, and there were no suspects.
Then a homeowner at 111 East Elliot Road called and requested a report for several items taken from his home on Saturday.
Three firearms, a Nintendo Wii, and a Blue Ray disc player were among the items taken.
The complainant stated he had friends over for a pool party and learned that Sarver and Carter may have been responsible for the thefts.
After a brief investigation, officers went to Sarver’s home.
Authorities found several of the items reported missing from the vehicles along with the Blue Ray player and Nintendo Wii sitting in the living room.
Carter was initially arrested for theft until the firearms were found under the bed he was sleeping in.
Sarver claimed responsibility for the series of thefts.
While being processed at the jail, drugs were found on Sarver.
