A local driver was cited after he caused a two-vehicle non-injury accident on the north edge of West Liberty Saturday night around eight o'clock.
The West Liberty Police Department reports that Nicholas Moist, 20, of West Liberty, was driving a 1997 Honda (pictured) southbound on Route 68 when he rear-ended a 2006 Subaru operated by Tucker Cates, 19, of New Carlisle.
Cates was southbound on 68 stopped to make a left turn onto County Road 5 when he was struck.
Moist was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance.
Both drivers and their passengers were wearing their seat belts.
Both vehicles suffered moderate damage.
