A city man was arrested on multiple counts following a domestic disturbance Friday morning around 3:50.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Christopher Hughes (pictured), 40, of 424 North Madriver Street, Apt. 1, became combative when his live-in girlfriend, Brianna Joseph, 33, returned home.
Joseph asked Hughes why he didn't answer the phone when she called to request a ride home from Belle Meadows Apartments.
He became enraged and started throwing things and punching kitchen cabinets. Hughes also broke a plastic chair on the porch and threw it on the street.
When officers responded, Hughes told them to either handcuff him or he was walking away.
Hughes continued to yell at the officers. They decided to arrest him because of his intoxicated state.
After he resisted, an officer drew a Taser.
Hughes complied. After he was handcuffed, he refused to enter the cruiser.
After repeated warnings, the officer used a Taser to put Hughes into the cruiser.
Hughes was transported to the Logan County Jail. He refused to exit the cruiser, which prompted the jail staff to forcefully remove him. He was eventually placed in a restraint chair.
Hughes was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
No one was injured.
