BHS raises money for cancer research through Relay for Life (Audio included)

On Friday, Bellefontaine High School held its annual Relay for Life event.

This year's Relay for Life was geared towards honoring Joy Delapena, a member of the class of 2013 who passed away due to Leukemia in 2012.

Neon "For the Joy of Life" shirts were sold in honor of Delapena. The shirts cost $12, and 25% of the profits went towards fundraising for Relay for Life.

The event consists of various games and activities including face painting, taping a teacher to a post, a hot dog eating contest, water balloon toss, nail painting, and tug-of-war.

Students could pay $5 for a ticket to go outside and walk the track, as well as play some more games and enjoy the nice weather.

The goal of the event was to raise at least $5000.

Listen to JD Bensman tell about Relay for Life.
