Life-threatening motorcycle crash near Zanesfield

A New Carlisle motorcyclist was flown by CareFlight to Grant Medical Center after he reportedly rear-ended a pickup near Zanesfield Friday afternoon and was thrown from the bike.

Troopers report that at 2:51 pm Friday, Codi Wells, 22, was riding a 2009 Yamaha south on County Road 5 just south of Main Street in Zanesfield when he rear-ended a 2008 Chevy pickup driven by Seth Harrison, 55, also of New Carlisle. Harrison was not injured.

Tri-Valley EMS and troopers summoned CareFlight to the scene, which transported Wells with what troopers reported were life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
