For the second time this month, a local man has been arrested for an alcohol-related incident.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Jack Rufus Jr. (pictured), 44, at large, was passed out near the sidewalk in front of 348 East Sandusky Avenue Thursday afternoon around one o'clock.
As officers approached, Rufus attempted to walk away. He then dropped a partially full bottle of King Cobra malt liquor, which shattered on the sidewalk.
Authorities recovered a full bottle of King Cobra in his jacket.
Rufus was then charged with public intoxication and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
On April 8th, Rufus was arrested on multiple charges in the city around 10:15 p.m.
He fell asleep near the intersection of East Sandusky Avenue and Meadowbrook Drive.
Rufus, who reeked of alcohol, was lying on the ground about a foot away from the roadway. He was holding a plastic bag containing an open bottle of Cobra beer.
Rufus told police he was almost home, but he could not remember his address.
He was charged with public intoxication and open container, then lodged in the Logan County Jail.
