Drunk driver crashes into local business

A drunk driver fled the scene after he struck a business in Quincy Saturday morning around 1:40.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Paul Henry, 50, of 325 South Miami Street, Quincy, was driving a 1977 GMC box truck eastbound on Jefferson Street when he lost control and struck Hi-Grade Oil (pictured).

The accident caused heavy damage to the front of the building, including a large garage door.

The impact caused cinder blocks to fall on a vehicle inside the business.

A witness saw Henry hit the building and flee.

Deputies found Henry's box truck parked near his residence.

Henry, who showed signs of intoxication, said mechanical problems with his truck caused the crash.

He said he didn't report the accident because he was intoxicated.

Henry was charged with OVI, leaving the scene, and failure to control.

He refused a blood alcohol test.

No one was injured.

The Quincy Fire Department assisted at the scene.
