City traffic stop leads to drug charges

Two brothers were arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in the city Wednesday just before midnight.

The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Timothy Allen (pictured left), 29, of 422 1/2 Rush Avenue, Bellefontaine, was stopped for speeding in the 1500 block of South Main Street.

Allen and passenger Jonathon Allen (pictured right), 31, of 1007 County Road 29, Bellefontaine, were each charged with possession of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence.

Jonathon, who lied about his identity, was also charged with providing false information to a police officer.

Timothy was cited for speed and driving under suspension.

Both men were wanted on failure to appear warrants in Union County.

They were lodged in the Logan County Jail early Thursday morning.
