Huntsville firefighters extinguish chimney fire

The Huntsville Fire Department responded to a chimney fire in the Bell Addition Sunday night around 6:30.

Huntsville Fire Chief Tim Jenkins reports the fire started in the chimney at Jim Robinson’s 3724 Mohawk Drive residence.

The fire is believed to have started because the wrong type of flue liner was installed.

Chief Jenkins estimates the fire did about $2,500 worth of damage.

Firefighters were on scene for about four-and-a-half hours.

No one was injured.
