An elderly couple was injured in a two-vehicle crash in West Liberty Sunday afternoon around two o'clock.
The West Liberty Police Department responded to a car/semi accident at the intersection of Route 68 and Newell Street.
John Plank, 87, of 829 Runkle Street, West Liberty, was driving an '08 Ford Fusion westbound on Newell, attempting to go south on 68.
The passenger's side of Plank's car collided with a southbound 2013 International semi operated by Darryl Denson, 53, of Columbus.
Plank and his wife, Joy, 86, were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Macochee Joint EMS.
Mrs. Plank suffered serious injuries.
Denson was not injured. He was cited for running a red light.
All three occupants were wearing their seat belts.
The Fusion suffered heavy damage while the semi had minor damage.
