Logan County officially has a new county recorder.
The Republican Central Committee met Thursday night in city council chambers and unanimously voted to appoint Pat Myers of rural Rushsylvania to the post.

Myers has worked at the office for a decade serving as chief deputy. She takes over for longtime county recorder Linda Hanson who retired unexpectedly at the end of 2012.
Myers appointment runs through 2014.
Myers is very active in local agriculture. She used to work at the OSU Extension Office in Bellefontaine. She continues to volunteer at the Logan County Fair.
