A city man was charged with rape Wednesday afternoon following a brief investigation by the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Darrel Davis (pictured), 30, of 1103 West Columbus Avenue, was arrested at O'Reilly Auto Parts, 1525 South Main Street, around 12:30.
Davis allegedly raped a Bellefontaine girl under the age of 13. The incidents happened over a two-year period.
The victim's mother contacted police on Sunday.
Logan County Children's Services assisted with the investigation.
Davis was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
