One defendant was sentenced and one defendant pleaded guilty before Logan County Common Pleas Court Judge Mark O'Connor earlier this week.
Ethan Smith (pictured), 20, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to the West Central Community Based Correctional Facility, five years community control, and ordered to pay court costs for felonious assault.
The conviction stems from a fight in Russells Point last year.
In June, Smith was indicted for two counts of felonious assault.
Adam Houchins, 22, of Russells Point, pleaded guilty to three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of safecracking, and one count of tampering with a coin machine.
A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing is scheduled for February 25th.
In a 2-1 split decision in a civil fraud case, the Third District Court of Appeals upheld the jury verdict that awarded damages, punitive damages, and attorney fees to the Clifford Cronkleton Trust.
The defendants were Guaranteed Construction Services and Patrick Shively. The defendants were acting as a receiver for the Court in a foreclosure sale of the car wash on North Hayes Street in Bellefontaine.
Cronkleton claimed the receiver misrepresented that the car wash had been properly winterized.
The jury awarded $43,671 in compensatory damages, $66,000 in punitive damages, and found the plaintiff was entitled to attorney fees which the Court set at $30,000.
