An area woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash in rural Union County near Magnetic Springs Sunday morning around 6:45.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that a 2004 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Hopewell Road. The vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
Shelby McClincy, 37, of Richwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gerald Keeton, 45, of Magnetic Springs, was transported to Union County Memorial Hospital in Marysville by Leesburg EMS. He was then transferred to OSU Wexner Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident.
Troopers are still trying to determine who was driving the Civic.
Authorities are not sure if McClincy and Keeton were wearing seat belts.
The Union County Sheriff's Office and Kare Medical Transportation Services assisted at the scene.
It's the second fatal accident in Union County this year. The State Patrol continues their investigation.
