A city man was arrested on multiple counts after he allegedly fired a handgun inside his residence Saturday morning around six o'clock.
James Lazar (pictured), 24, of 304 North Detroit Street, was reportedly intoxicated when he discharged a .38-caliber revolver multiple times.
After making several attempts to contact Lazar, the Bellefontaine Police Department forced their way into the home.
Lazar was charged with improper discharging of a firearm, weapons under disability, inducing panic, and persistent disorderly conduct.
A mother and her two children were evacuated from an upstairs apartment.
No one was injured.
Police found several shell casings and the revolver inside Lazar's residence.
Initially, officers responded to reports of gunshots or firecrackers on North Detroit Street and North Madriver Street.
