Drug arrests and seizures continue to rise

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that drug arrests and seizures continue to rise significantly in the first half of 2012.

27,875 heroin grams, a 327% increase over last year were seized by troopers during the first six months of this year.

Marijuana seizures by gram are up 107% while drug arrests are up 30%.

Marysville Post troopers have issued 45 misdemeanor drug and/or paraphernalia citations, 23 felony drug-related arrests and 8 miscellaneous arrests.

Drug prohibition efforts are essential to improving the quality of life in Ohio. Dangerous drugs are trafficked into Ohio, broken down into smaller quantities and making their way into local communities.
