Friday’s storms caused structural damage to the Logan County Courthouse. The courthouse lost a section of the roof near the top where the clock tower is located. The damage from the winds caused the tower to twist and shift approximately eight inches.
The building and the lawn area have been cordoned off and are off limits at this time.
Logan County Commissioner Dustin Wickersham talks about the situation with WPKO/WBLL’s Bill Tipple.
The courthouse will be closed until further notice, with operations being shifted to other locations.
Hear Wickersham put the damage and storm in historical context.
Wickersham said that the courthouse tower will be repaired to appear exactly as it has since its construction in 1870, using as much reclamation materials from the existing structure as possible.
