Bellefontaine High School robotics team advances to world competition

Bellefontaine High School recently had two teams compete in the Vex State Robotics Competition at Columbus East High School.

The teams competed against the top 75 Vex Robotics teams from around the state.

During the morning part of the competition, Team 9185A - FOAB (Members - Mitch McCune, Ben Parsons, Zane Warren, Micah Woolf, and Dustin VanBuskirk) and Team 9185B - Cletus and the Funky Bunch (Members - Kaitey Chervenak, Ryoma Kawakami, Hunter Kesler, and Jon Moody) fought hard and were consistently in the top 15 teams all morning.

Team 9185A finished in 21st place and Team 9185B finished in 11th place.

Teams 9185B was selected to compete in the afternoon playoffs.

They won during the quarterfinals and moved on to the semifinals where they lost in the last match.

Any team making it to the semifinals earned a spot to the worlds.

Team 9185B will compete at the Vex Worlds competition on April 24th-28th in Louisville, Kentucky among the top one percent of the Vex Robotics teams from all over the world.
