Underage drinking party leads to arrest; more could face charges

A local teen was arrested and several other teens could face charges following an underage drinking party near Indian Lake Friday night around 9:30.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office responded to 7444 Lake Street (near State Route 117 and State Route 273).

Hayden Neely, 14, hosted the party.

His father, Robert, 44, was not home.

Robert knew Hayden was having a few friends over to spend the night.

Mr. Neely did not know about the alcohol.

When deputies responded, they saw a 14-year-old girl passed out near a toilet.

The girl was only wearing a bra and pants.

The teen was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by BMRT Squad.

Several partygoers fled on foot.

Sierra Mathews, 14, of Bellefontaine, told deputies they needed a warrant to enter the residence.

She was arrested after she refused multiple warnings to calm down.

Mathews was placed in a cruiser.

Moments later, she slipped out of a handcuff and slid the window open to the front seat.

Mathews put the deputy's traffic vest on and vomited all over the rear seat.

Mathews, who was highly intoxicated, was charged with underage consumption and persistent disorderly conduct.

She was lodged in the Logan County JDC.

A 16-year-old boy was found in his car.

Six other teens were located inside the home.

No charges were filed, but the case was sent to the Logan County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Authorities found empty bottles and cans in the house.

They were unable to determine who supplied the alcohol.

Deputies continue their investigation.
