Zimmerman, Lane named Riverside Seniors of the Month

Riverside High School has named their January Seniors of the Month.

Name: Brianna Marie Zimmerman

Guardians: Kelly Kauffman, Eric Kauffman

School activities and awards: BPA, FCCLA, OMUN, Cheer.

If I were principal for a day: I would plan a yearly mental health awareness day where the students are reminded that they are safe and that the school cares. This day would include time for the students to breathe and take their minds off of school stresses. A day that shows them that they matter and helps them to deal with life, similar to the 13 Reasons Why Riverside Cares day we had here.

Favorite school memory: My favorite school memory would be participating in FCCLA and the Mock Crash we held for Riverside.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: The Kauffman's/ Knights who have accepted me as their family and have helped me grow into a better person and love me unconditionally.

Tyler, my brother, who has been my strength throughout my entire life.

Rebekah King who has been with me through everything and taught me true friendship.

Mrs. Fleming, who, in all of her amazing ways, always offers kindness and teaches me to never give up.

Mrs. Fauley, Mr. Huber, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Lentz, Mrs. Dunham, Mrs. Potter, Mrs. Hughes, Deputy Jean, and Mrs. Ratermann who have all been positive role models and inspirations to me.

Lately, I have been reading: The Shack by William P. Young (It’s life changing!)

My advice to parents: Take plenty of pictures and videos, these are the memories to hold on to. Take time to bond with your children, be their first best friend. Make sure they know you love them and are their biggest supporter. Don’t stress yourselves, we’ll turn out alright; eventually. Just be there for them, it will make a difference.

My biggest regret: My biggest regret would be wishing I were older and not slowing down to cherish every moment that passed. It’s true when they say time flies, I regret not realizing that sooner.

Next year I will be: Beginning the biggest adventure of my life. In college, preferably Bowling Green, getting my degree in high school English Education.

Name: Trey Lane

Parents: Bryan and Andrea Lane

School activities and awards: NHS, NTHS, BPA, United Way Youth Allocations, Baseball (All League), Basketball, Golf (4x All League, All Area)

If I were principal for a day: If I were principal for a day, I would have another school wide dodgeball tournament.

Favorite school memory: My favorite school memory would have to be the golf van rides because each and every single one of them was one to remember. It will definitely be one of the things I miss the most.

People who have been an inspiration to me include: My parents, Mrs. Weadock, Coach Phelps, and Mr. Mann

Lately, I have been reading: The Bible

My advice to parents: My advice to parents is to always try to keep a positive and sarcastic household because it makes a huge difference.

My biggest regret: I have done my best to live high school with no regrets and have almost fully succeeded. The one thing I do regret though is not giving it my all in basketball all four years.

Next year I will be: I will be attending a 4 year university that is still undecided and majoring in Business or Sports Management.
