Car/deer injury accident on Route 33

A local driver was injured in a car/deer crash on Route 33 just east of the County Road 5 overpass (near Zanesfield) Sunday morning around 1:50.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Marissa Patrick, 20, of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2015 Toyota Yaris eastbound on 33 when she struck a deer that entered the roadway.

Patrick, who was wearing her seat belt, suffered minor injuries.

She was treated at the scene by Tri-Valley EMS.

Patrick was not transported.

Her vehicle had heavy damage.

There were also a car/deer accident on State Route 508 Sunday morning around seven o'clock.

October through December is the peak season for car/deer crashes.

You're advised to drive with caution, reduce your speed, and use high beams.
