Logan County Chamber names Yoder Concrete Construction as Business of the Month

Jeff and Roberta YoderThe Logan County Chamber of Commerce has named November's Business and Entrepreneur of the Month as Jeff and Roberta Yoder and their team at Yoder Concrete Construction.

Yoder Concrete Construction provides concrete construction for commercial, industrial, and residential customers. Their work includes foundations, floors, sidewalks and curbs, concrete pavement, driveways, aprons, and patios. Their concrete projects include regular concrete work and decorative concrete projects as well. Of the many projects they have currently underway, one of the most interesting is at the Franklin Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus. This is a kid friendly interactive outdoor garden that includes a boardwalk across wetlands and a wheelchair accessible canopy walk-up 13 feet into the trees.

Jeff is a lifelong resident of the West Liberty area. He started learning the construction trade working with a local contractor while also farming in Champaign County. In 1991, he started his own business doing concrete jobs for area farmers and homeowners. He became certified by the American Concrete Institute as a Concrete Flatwork Technician and Finisher in 1997 at a World of Concrete Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Soon after returning from that convention, he purchased his first set of stamp mats to create decorative concrete for his customers.

In 2001, Jeff’s wife Roberta began helping with the business. To better understand the construction industry, Roberta attended the World of Concrete and other concrete conventions and training. She obtained her ACI Certification as a Concrete Flatwork Technician in 2007.

Yoder Concrete Construction was awarded the Central Ohio Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics in 2015. This award honors companies whose leaders demonstrate a high level of personal character and ensure that the organization’s practices meet the highest standards of ethics and consequently generate trust.
