Ackley's T-Bone Steer breaks county record - Saturday livestock sale highlights (Audio & video included)

The Logan County Jr. Fair livestock auction featured several local businesses teaming up Saturday to buy the top entries in T-Bone steers, dairy steers, chickens, rabbits, and dairy beef feeders.

Kris AckleyThe Grand Champion T-Bone Steer from Kris Ackley sold for a county fair record $11,250 to A.G. Boogher and Son, Jackson Collision, Blackhart Farm Center, Dave Kehl Chevrolet, Cargill Animal Nutrition, Woodruff Feed and Fence, Curly's Meats, Andy Mayer, Smith Smith Montgomery & Chamberlain, Hi-Point Graphics, Greg Hurley Excavating, Devitt Club Lambs, Apple Farm, Farm Credit, Sloan Insurance, Richwood Bank, Thomas & Marker, Egbert Livestock, Larger Bros Milk, AWOL Farms, Kinney Trucking, Heritage Coop, NEX Transport, Marysville Honda, Logan County Coop, Boysel Genetics, and Ryan Logistics.

Allison KnightThe Grand Champion Born & Raised T-Bone Steer earned $1,000 for Allison Knight. The buyers were Reichert Excavating, Pioneer Seed, Farm Credit, Mary Rutan Hospital, Judge Doug Chamberlain, Comer Insurance, Curly's Meats, Sloan Insurance, Sunrise Coop, Kalmbach Feeds, Heritage Coop, Liberty National Bank, and Desperados.

Rachel KnightRachel Knight showed the Reserve Champion Born & Raised T-Bone Steer, which sold for $1,000 to Reichert Excavating, Pioneer Seed, Farm Credit, Mary Rutan Hospital, Judge Doug Chamberlain, Comer Insurance, Sloan Insurance, Curly's Meats, Sunrise Coop, Kalmbach Feeds, Heritage Coop, Liberty National Bank, and Desperados.

Steele BoyselSteele Boysel's Reserve Champion Slick Steer sold for $550 to Ludlow Ag and Pioneer Hybrids.

Evan PattonThe Grand Champion Dairy Steer from Evan Patton was purchased for $1,800 by A.G. Boogher and Son, Ohio Lumber, Kalmbach Feeds, Farm Credit, Bobcat of Lima, Custom Agri Systems, Marysville Honda, Huntsville Area Businesses, Shelly Materials, Findlay Implement, Royer Realty, Steve Austin's Auto Group, Liberty National Bank, and Kroger.

Rebekah KingFair Queen Rebekah King's Reserve Champion Rabbit Meat Pen sold for $300 to Bell Insurance.

Caleb AltstaetterThe Reserve Champion Dairy Beef Feeder presented by Caleb Altstaetter brought in $925. The buyers were Desperados, Royer Realty, Steve Austin's Auto Group, Huntsville Area Businesses, Richwood Bank, Patton Farms, Luthman Ag Services, Dell Delight Farms, and Egbert Livestock.

Kris Ackley had the Grand Champion Dairy Beef Feeder, which he chose not to sell.

The entire sale was broadcast on 1390 WBLL. Auctioneers Gary Saylor and John Regula sold more than 500 projects Friday and Saturday.
