The Logan County Cancer Society has been serving Logan County for over 50 years as its own organization separate from the American Cancer Society.
Although Mary Rutan Hospital heads the organization, it donates its time and services.
The primary goal of the Logan County Cancer Society is to provide assistance for those who have been diagnosed with cancer in Logan County. They assist with supplies, medication, transportation and wigs for patients.
Tammy Allison explains the Logan County Cancer Society.
In 2011, 80 Logan County residents were assisted by the Logan County Cancer Society.
Nancy Harmon comments on what the organization did in 2011.
During the month of April in downtown Bellefontaine, the Logan County Cancer Society will be holding its Doors of Encouragement campaign. People or groups sponsor a door and decorate it any way they like to be auctioned on April 26th. All proceeds from the auction will go into the organization to help assist local cancer patients. For information about how to sponsor a door call Melody Couchman at 937-441-2962 or visit Doors of Encouragement on Facebook.
Volunteer Melody Couchman and Harmon speak about Doors of Encouragement.
The Logan County Cancer Society is the March recipient of the Community Spotlight Grant, sponsored by Liberty National Bank and Steve Austin’s Auto Group.
