A traffic stop on Orchard Island led to a large drug bust Friday afternoon.
The Washington Township Police Department stopped John Heilman, 51, of rural West Liberty, on State Route 708 around 1:30.
Officers saw Heilman leave Tim Fedele's 9028 Park Street residence.
Heilman was stopped for driving under suspension.
Officers smelled marijuana in the 2003 Ford Ranger.
A Waynesfield K-9 unit alerted on the vehicle.
Heilman admitted to having a large bag of marijuana hidden in his sock.
Heilman said he recently worked for Fedele.
Mr. Fedele said he didn't have any money.
Heilman accepted the marijuana as payment.
Heilman was cited for driving under suspension, then released.
A few hours later, officers executed a search warrant at Fedele's home.
Authorities recovered marijuana, marijuana grow equipment, and $1,000 in one dollar bills.
They also seized over 50 prescription medications, with some in other patients' names.
Fedele, 54, was charged with felony trafficking in marijuana.
Several other charges are pending.
The items were placed into evidence.
The Russells Point Police Department and Waynesfield Police Department assisted at Fedele's home.
Fedele was lodged in the Logan County Jail Friday night.
