The Benjamin Logan FFA Chapter recently received a grant from the Logan County Solid Waste Management District in conjunction with the Logan County Education Foundation.
The grant has been used to improve the chapter's wetland. The money was used to conduct a controlled burn on the prairie grass. The grant was also used to purchase educational tools such as field guides of Ohio birds, trees, and wildflowers, a digital aid, nets, and maps of the wetland.
Students are currently fixing the shelter and it is their hope to have the shelter completed by spring, so teachers and students can take full advantage of it and the wetland.
Students are looking forward to the coming year to keep improving the wetland and have the school take advantage of this great outside classroom.
