Fitzpatrick’s Jalle’ Berry coming to Brewfontaine and Ohio (Audio included)

Jeramy Fitzpatrick (pictured) along with Adam Rammel and Brian Wall started Brewfontaine in downtown Bellefontaine last November 23rd.

He recently had the opportunity to get one of his home brews into a real brewery, to get it brewed professionally, and to have it on tap at Brewfontaine along with other craft beer restaurants and taprooms all over Ohio.

The beer is called Jalle’ Berry, a name coined by his partner Brian Wall.  It is a jalapeno raspberry pale ale.    It features Cascade and Columbus hops with the raspberry ingredient giving it a pink color.  Jeramy said even though the jalapenos are in it Jalle’ Berry should not be too hot. (Pictured is the logo created for Jalle' Berry)

It has been a home brew of Jeramy’s for 7-8 years, and has gained a little bit of a following due to a charity event they have put on for a number of years.  Since Brewfontaine has opened he said several people have come in and asked why it was not on tap.  Jeramy said due to alcohol laws they were not able to do it.

Then representatives of the Toxic Brewing Company in Dayton were at Brewfontaine for an event .  They were talking about pepper beers and Jeramy mentioned his jalapeno ale.  They liked it and asked him to come brew his creation there in the Oregon district in Dayton.

He said the way it came about the stars must have aligned just right.  The Toxic Brewing Company had always been a self-disributor.  It just so happened the Premium Distributing Company signed a contract with Toxic while he was brewing his ale there, perfect timing, so now Jalle’ Berry will be distributed  to many of the top craft beer spots in Ohio.

Jeramy said it is a great opportunity for him and the local restaurant.  He added, “I can’t thank those guys enough!”

Jeramy said Jalle’ Berry will be available at Brewfontaine probably this upcoming week as early as Wednesday.

Jalle’ Berry will be distributed to a number of other places across the state including the Pint Room in Dublin, Ollie’s Place in Centerville, Wine Works in Springfield, Upper Arlington’s Daily Growler, Bunkers Sports Bar and Grill in Vandalia, Vino Bellissimo in Lima, Lucky’s Taproom and Eatery in Dayton, Karoc Marathon Corner Deli in Sidney, the Toxic Brewing Company, and of course at Brewfontaine, the Tap of Ohio in Bellefontaine.  He said there probably will be other spots as well still to be determined.

Adam, Brian, and Jeramy told me when they were getting ready to open Brewfontaine they were trying to provide a local place for people to go to without having to drive to Lima, Dayton, or Columbus.

I asked Jeramy if they have succeeded.  He stated he thinks so, with a ton of people giving them good feedback since they opened in late November.

He credited the staff for being a big part of that.

Brewfontaine is located at 211 S. Main St. in downtown Bellefontaine.  Sunday-Thursday their hours are 11am-10 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11am-midnight.

Check them out on Facebook or at www.brewfontaine.com.
