The Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Board of Education began their last regular session meeting of the 2010-2011 school year by recognizing students and staff.
After presenting Student of the Month Brittany White (Early Childhoold Education) from North Union with her certificate, the board watched a presentation from senior Jason Kish.
Kish is an architectural/mechanical design student, and presented his senior project to the board, which consisted of a model home, made of modern materials he had researched.

Senior projects consist of a research paper, which is chiefly done in the first half of the school year, a product, and a presentation. The students do these projects in addition to the work already presented to them in class.
The same seniors who have completed the projects, will round out their final week of classes and be walking down the aisle in graduation gowns on June 1st at Campbell Hill, weather permitting.
Along with the joyous occasion of graduation, is coming the sad good-byes to some of the staff members at OHP.
Shane Haggerty, the communications coordinator at Ohio Hi-Point, submitted his resignation after four years with the school. He is leaving to start a marketing/PR firm in Columbus.

The board also had a recognition of service for those teachers hitting milestones in serving the school. One of those included 35-year employee Earl LeVan, who happens to be retiring this year.
