Community Safety Event weathers the storm (Audio & video included)

Despite steady showers, several hundred local residents attended the Second Annual Community Safety Event at Southview Park Saturday from 4-7.

Bellefontaine Police Chief Brandon Standley spearheaded the event, which featured law enforcement and emergency responders from Logan and surrounding counties.

Standley said the event promotes relationships between law enforcement and citizens.

Allen County robotThe crowd was entertained by a bomb squad robot from the Allen County Sheriff's Office and two K-9 demonstrations.

Chicken dinners were sold to benefit the city's K-9 unit.

Participating agencies included: Bellefontaine Police Department, Logan County Sheriff's Office, Buckeye State Sheriff's Association, State Highway Patrol, FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency, Washington Township Police Department, Russells Point Police Department, West Liberty Police Department, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Bellefontaine Fire and EMS, Bellefontaine Street Department, Allen County Sheriff's Office, Logan County Health District, Marysville Police Department K-9, Union County Sheriff's Office K-9, Citizens Police Academy Alumni, Bob Evans, and Belle Bounce.
