The Logan County Board of DD met Thursday night and the strategic plan was passed.
Board of DD Superintendent Saul Bauer said as part of that strategic plan the agency will focus on community employment and integration in the future.
Bauer talked about the organization’s finances, the strategic plan being passed, and statements that they believe are the principles reflecting the values for the services that they provide.
Listen to his comments.
Bauer said there was a committee of around 15 individuals in the community who are connected to their services. These people are a part of this team that is putting together a strategic plan for the Board of DD’s future.
He added the committee asked the question, What does the organization value, including the employees and the leaders?
The Board of DD also conducted a survey, sending out around 350. They were pleased when over 100 surveys were filled out, a nearly 30 percent return.
Bauer said the results of the survey were that most people were very satisfied with what is happening with the Logan County Board of DD, as they are providing the services that are needed for those with developmental disabilities.
Bauer said from a financial standpoint the organization is doing very well right now. The cash balance on all funds was almost $5.7 million, which is over $1.2 million higher that in 2013.
He added they’ve now had four consecutive years of financial growth.
Bauer said facilities manager Dave Fromm will retire then be rehired, case manager Shawn Shelton resigned for the purpose of moving to Florida, and teacher Rebecca Crisler is retiring.
The Board of DD will not meet in July. Their next meeting is Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m.
