A local driver suffered serious injuries in a pickup/semi accident on Route 33 in Russells Point Sunday night around 6:20.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Dustin Kindle, 31, of Lakeview, was driving a 1987 Ford Ranger westbound on 33 near the Donut Shop when he went left of center and struck the rear axle of an eastbound 2001 Kenworth semi operated by Charles Hartings, 43, of Maria Stein.
Kindle, who was not wearing his seat belt, was trapped.
He was removed, then transported to Grant Medical Center by MedFlight.
Hartings was not injured. He was wearing his seat belt.
His semi was hauling petroleum.
The pickup was leaking fuel. Logan County Haz-Mat cleaned up the spill.
Alcohol or drug use is suspected.
The road was closed for about two hours.
Troopers continue their investigation.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office, Russells Point Police Department, Indian Joint Fire District, Indian Lake EMS, and Huntsville EMS assisted at the scene.
