A teen driver was issued two drug-related summons following a traffic stop in the city Tuesday night around 8:15.
The Bellefontaine Police Department stopped Beau Swank, 18, of 1602 County Road 9, Bellefontaine, in the 400 block of Washington Avenue.
Initially, Swank was stopped because he was driving a vehicle without working tail lights.
Authorities smelled a strong odor of marijuana when they approached the 2000 Honda.
Swank admitted to smoking marijuana at a friend's house earlier in the evening.
After given consent to search the car, police found a marijuana pipe and a grinder in the center console.
Swank then agreed to perform a field sobriety test.
Officers determined that he was not impaired.
Swank was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 17-year-old rural Bellefontaine male riding with Swank was not charged.
The teens were released from the scene.
