A Lakeview resident was arrested for past burglary charges and suspected drug use in Bellefontaine Thursday evening.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that shortly after nine o’clock on Thursday, authorities responded to a trespassing complaint at a Shady Lane Drive residence.
When the police arrived, they were greeted by residents of the apartment saying there were unwanted people inside and one of them was waving around a gun.
The officers made their way inside and found multiple people including Richard Cody Dirckson, 20, 10885 Ash Street, Lakeview, who was wanted for an indictment on four counts of burglary.
Dirckson was placed into handcuffs and upon further search, authorities recovered a needle, a small baggy of white powder, and a capsule of suspected heroin.
During his arrest, his girlfriend arrived and authorities searched her. They found a realistic looking black air-soft pellet gun. The gun was confiscated.
Dirckson was then transported to the Logan County Jail where he was lodged on an indictment of four counts of burglary and was charged with possession of heroin and possession of a drug abuse instrument.
