An Urbana man was cited for OVI after a traffic stop in Bellefontaine Wednesday morning around two o’clock.
Bellefontaine Police report that Russell Stewart, 28, of 423 West Court Street, Urbana, was observed weaving in and out of lanes as he was driving southbound on South Main Street in a 2011 Hyundai Accent.
Officers initiated a traffic stop after they followed and observed Stewart exhibit multiple driving errors and then come to a stop in a Washington Avenue driveway.
He admitted to have been drinking multiple beers earlier in the night. Police conducted a field sobriety test which Stewart had trouble completing.
Stewart was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he recorded a .213-blood alcohol level.
He was cited for OVI, driving on the wrong side of the road, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Stewart was released to a friend and is due in Bellefontaine Municipal Court on January 9th.
