Two female teens from Adriel School were arrested following a three-county pursuit Thursday morning around 2:15.
The West Liberty Police Department reports that Bonnie Barnes, 14, was driving a stolen 2006 Chevy Cobalt on the sidewalk after striking the Ice Cream Parlor at the intersection of Detroit Street and Baird Street.
Barnes was attempting to leave the scene.
The officer activated his siren, but Barnes fled southbound on Route 68.
Deputies from the Champaign County Sheriff's Office deployed stop sticks and punctured three tires.
The vehicle continued southbound through Urbana and into Clark County.
Authorities used stop sticks again, which disabled the vehicle on 68 in the median near State Route 334.
Barnes and passenger Veronica Love, 15, were taken into custody.
About an hour before the pursuit, the two girls were reported missing from the school.
Barnes was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, and no operator's license.
In addition, there was a warrant for her arrest from Champaign County Juvenile Court following a vehicle theft earlier this month after she walked away from the group home.
Love was charged with complicity to theft of a motor vehicle.
Both girls were lodged in the Logan County JDC.
The pursuit reached speeds between 40-60 miles per hour.
No one was injured.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office and State Highway Patrol assisted.
The West Liberty Police Department continues their investigation. Additional charges may be filed.
The stolen Cobalt is owned by Mark Meeker, 410 West Baird Street, West Liberty.
