The Logan County Art League is pleased to host nationally known Ohio watercolorist, Christopher Leeper, for a four-day watercolor/acrylic workshop.  Chris Leeper is one of the Ohio's foremost watercolor teachers and brings enthusiasm, humor and energy to his classes, making painting a fun and exciting experience.  Each day there will be demonstrations and lots of one-on-one instruction.  This workshop will focus on the process of creating a painting and developing a plan for success.  The importance of drawing, design, and brushwork will be emphasized.  Improving color mixing and how to get dynamic value relationships will be a goal.

IL Homecoming Parade
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

The Russells Point Police and Indian Lake Schools invite families, neighbors and all Indian Lake Lakers past, present or future to line Main Street for the 2017 Homecoming Parade. This spirit-filled tradition will take place in downtown Russells Point on Thursday, September 21st beginning at 6:30 pm. The parade will feature more than 40 floats showcasing Indian Lake student athletes, band members, local law enforcement, student organizations, staff and the 2017 Homecoming Queen and court.  Groups will hand out candy and other small prizes.

The theme for this year’s Homecoming event is "Tune Up the Pioneers."  Each class float will be decorated in the style of a favorite music genre. In addition, establishments along the parade route are encouraged to decorate their exteriors. The ILHS Student Council will present an award for the Business with the Best Spirit.

After the parade, McDonald’s of Indian Lake will host a Pep Rally in the overflow parking lot next to the restaurant.  Cheerleaders will introduce the coaches, football players and the Homecoming Court. There will be a giant piñata and other activities to get the students, players, parents and fans excited about the game against Jonathan Alder on Friday night at the ILHS Stadium.

Prior to the parade, Russells Point Police will close the west end of Main Street at 5 pm. Floats should approach the parade route from Township Road 239 at Midway. Students who are participating in the parade may be dropped off at the bike path pull-off at Twp. Rd. 239 or Paradise Island across from Indian Head Roadhouse.
